Accountant looking after the accounting needs of small to medium sized businesses based in Falkirk. We are offering a Modern Apprenticeship role in Accounting for a school leaver with higher Accounts. The contract is for 18 months. You will study for AAT Level 6 – Diploma in Accountancy with the one to one support of a tutor from Babington. Babington is a leading training provider of apprenticeships in the UK. In this role, you will learn a range of skills and work towards becoming an Accountant.

Responsibilities –

Sales and purchase ledger processing
Bank reconciliations
Scanning sales and purchase invoices into software
Using cloud-based software to complete book-keeping tasks
Working alongside the senior Bookkeeper
Answer all telephone calls and reception enquiries in a polite and timely manner.

For the right candidate you would be given support to progress through training to become a Chartered Accountant (ICAS or ACCA) should you wish to proceed to this level

The role is a great opportunity for a school leaver who has an interest in becoming an Accountant but does not wish to go to university. For the right candidate you would be given support to progress through training to become a Chartered Accountant (ICAS or ACCA) should you wish to proceed to this level. If at the end of the apprenticeship and the candidate moves onto study to become a Chartered Accountant they would become fully qualified after 5 years.

This would allow them to move into a more senior position with DTA, it also gives them opportunities to move into industry or maybe work overseas.

Must have an interest in Accountancy, ambitious and wish to become a qualified Accountant.

Must be a good communicator.

Must have a minimum of three Highers A-C, with one being Accountancy. The starting salary would be £15,000 per annum.

This would be reviewed on an annual basis.

Annual bonus.

Salary would be increased after 18 months depending on what route they take i.e. if taken on full time as an Accounts Assistant or progress to full training contract.
