Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and efficient Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team in Glasgow, United Kingdom. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive high-quality, nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

Assist in the preparation of food and snacks, following recipes and portion guidelines
Serve meals to customers in a friendly and professional manner
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas
Operate catering equipment safely and efficiently
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth food service operations
Assist with stock rotation and inventory management
Comply with all food safety regulations and organisational policies
Participate in food safety training programmes as required
Contribute to a positive dining experience for all customers
Adapt to changing priorities and work flexibly during busy periods

Qualifications

Previous experience in food service or catering is desirable
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding food presentation and hygiene
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends if required
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
Basic numeracy skills for portioning and stock management
Effective time management and organisational abilities
Capability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times
Willingness to learn and adhere to food safety practices
Food hygiene certification is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
