Applications are invited for our General Practice Medical Education Fellow (MEF) position starting in August 2026 offering a combination of opportunities in teaching, personal development, research, and educational quality improvement within NHS Lothian.
Working with the MED team [https://www.med.scot.nhs.uk/about-us], the University of Edinburgh and with multi-professional colleagues this post affords the opportunity to impact on the delivery and development of safe, effective, and person-centred clinical care through training excellence. It is an exciting opportunity to develop skills in medical education, leadership and education research across undergraduate and postgraduate settings, alongside primary, secondary care and the interface.
The post can be tailored for GP Registrars who will have completed GPST2 at the start of the fellowship or qualified GPs up to three years post CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training).
This is a whole-time position based on a 40-hour week appointment (part-time considered) with salary in line with current seniority at time of appointment linked to the pay and conditions of service of hospital medical and dental staff NHS Circular on a pro rata basis.
