The Role

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out routine personal care/assist with routine examination duties for patients, in support of (and supervised by), a registered nurse/clinician. The post holder will ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy. The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward/department environment.

Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.

What we'll need you to bring

Knowledge of personal care and related procedures or previous volunteer or work experience in a health, education or social environment.
Required to undertake on the job training and induction
Undertake mandatory HCSW standards
Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.
Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

It would be great if you also have

SVQ3 in healthcare or working towards or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role
Actively participate in the personal development plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuous professional development
Ability to work unsupervised.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Ear Nose and Throat - Ward 9 within University Hospital Monklands

The working pattern for this role will be rotational.
