Job Title: Lead Risk and Opportunity Professional

Salary: Up to £54,000 Dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead the implementation and operation of project and programme risk management processes, ensuring risks, opportunities and issues are identified, assessed and effectively controlled
- Facilitate risk workshops, coordinate risk reviews, and maintain high‑quality risk and opportunity registers aligned to Life Cycle Management and project governance requirements
- Analyse and interpret risk information, conducting quantitative risk assessments and advising project teams on cost and schedule exposure
- Act as a technical Schedule Risk Analysis/Cost Risk Analysis specialist providing risk analysis within the project
- Provide expert guidance to Control Account Managers and stakeholders, challenging assumptions, highlighting emerging exposures and influencing robust decision‑making
- Support the governance and assurance of risk inputs into change control, schedule reviews and performance reporting
- Coach, mentor and potentially supervise a small team, promoting best practice and supporting capability development across the wider project
- Champion continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned, driving process enhancements and raising the profile of effective risk management throughout the programme
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Significant experience in professional risk management role within a complex project environment, with considerable knowledge of risk tools, techniques and governance frameworks
- Ample analytical capability, able to interpret varied data sets, integrate risk insights and clearly communicate impacts to cost, schedule and performance
- Confident stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to lead workshops, challenge constructively and support collaborative problem solving
- Experience and technical knowledge to conduct QSRA/QCRA
Desirable:
- Experience leading or developing others, such as supervising small teams, delivering training or supporting capability growth within a project environment
- Background in complex engineering or highly regulated industries, with the ability to understand technical inputs and work effectively within multi‑disciplinary delivery teams
