Pay Range: £47,790 - £53,100
About this opportunity
We're looking to recruit a Software Engineer to work within the International & CHAPS Lab in Edinburgh. Specifically, to support our new industry-leading International Payments Platform (IPP). Our strategic roadmap includes a Payments Industry product called Global Payments Plus (GPP). This product is being used to deliver key revenue streams as well as enable mandatory compliance.

What you’ll need…..
You'll be a Software Engineer preferably with previous knowledge of integrating, introducing, and supporting 3rd Party packages, including bespoke solution configuration and rules-based engineering into a Payments production environment.
- Adept solutions designer and problem solver.
- Technical Proficiency –
- Familiarity with Linux applications
- Programming language: Knowledge of Java, Python, Unix Shell scripting.
- OS: Unix
- DataBase: Oracle DB
- DevOps and Code Management: GIT, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Tools: SQL Developer, UCD, MQ, Kafka.
- Monitoring Tools : TWS, Tivoli, Splunk and Dynatrace.
- You’ll have all-around knowledge of the software development lifecycle, ideally within a modern Agile engineering function.
It would be great if you also had experience in…
- Previous experience of working with technical components of Finastra GPP product.
- Knowledge of Nodejs, Elastic search.
- Websphere based application knowledge.
- Scripting or Automation – Basic knowledge of Bash or Python to automate routine tasks.
- Cloud support knowledge – Understanding of cloud environments like OCP, GCP, Azure, AWS as well as Private Cloud solutions.
- Observability – Familiarity with monitoring tools to diagnose issues and ensure system performance and reliability.
