The Infection Unit is looking for a hardworking, dynamic, proactive, and friendly nurse to join their senior nursing team in the Band 5 role.

Ward 111 consists of 26 beds looking after patients with both acute and chronic infections and complex discharge planning.

The Band 5 staff nurse role involves the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality, evidence based, and person centred care.

We can offer a good working environment within a large multidisciplinary team who are keen to support the educational and training needs of our staff. The ward has a culture of continuous quality improvement and are undertaking many initiatives to improve patient safety and support patients with cognitive impairment.

The post is rotational, working a 12-hour shift pattern on a day/night shift basis. The hours of work are 36 hours per week.

The candidate must have had some experience whilst training in wound management and have worked in a surgical area. The candidate must also have minimum 12 months experience working as a Band 5 and have completed their Flying start as part of the NQN programme.

The candidate needs to be flexible in working and work well within an already established team

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
