The Role
To independently perform and report ultrasound examinations and train Radiology Registrars, alleviating Consultant Radiologists time constraints.
To support the Area Lead Sonographer in meeting operational and strategic targets, and improving the quality of patient care within the Radiology Specialty.
The working pattern for this role will include 1 in 5 weekend cover
In this key role, you will:
The service currently provides diagnostic ultrasound support to multiple stakeholders from primary, secondary, screening (AAA) and ED across the whole of the board providing a high quality, efficient and effective ultrasound service to the local population and function as part of a multidisciplinary team
What You'll Bring:
- Registered Radiographer with valid HCPC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
