About This Opportunity
We’re looking for a Regulatory Controls Manager to play a key role in strengthening the regulatory control environment across Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB). The role is focused on ensuring regulatory requirements are clearly understood, well‑controlled and delivered safely, with an emphasis on simplifying and optimising controls to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
You’ll coordinate how regulatory change is assessed and embedded into the business and help deliver a CIB‑wide regulatory traceability framework. Working closely with partners across Risk, Compliance and the business - and with third‑party providers - you’ll support strong auditability, effective regulatory responses and sustained regulatory confidence.
Key Accountabilities
Regulatory Controls & Governance
Act as a regulatory subject matter expert for CIB, ensuring the effective operation of controls relied upon by regulation and supporting strong governance and auditability.
Coordinate delivery of a CIB‑wide regulatory traceability framework, working with a third‑party provider to ensure clear mapping between regulatory requirements, controls, processes and evidence.
Control Operation & Optimisation
Supervise the operation, monitoring and testing of regulatory controls in line with Group standards and regulatory expectations, identifying control weaknesses and coordinating timely remediation of audit findings and high‑priority actions.
Embed Control by Design principles, simplifying and optimising control processes to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
Regulatory Change
Triage and assess regulatory change impacts through a control lens, supporting the safe and compliant implementation of new regulatory requirements aligned to risk appetite and strategic objectives.
Support Product, Risk and Control Owners with regulatory mapping and control design within Risk Operating Platform, and represent the function at relevant forums, deputising for management where required.
What We’re Looking For
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and governance standards, with hands‑on experience operating and monitoring regulatory controls within a large financial services organisation.
Significant experience (typically 5+ years) working within CIB or a closely aligned wholesale / investment banking environment, with a strong understanding of CIB products, processes and regulatory expectations.
Proven experience (typically 5+ years) delivering regulatory change, including assessing regulatory impacts and translating regulatory requirements into effective controls, processes and evidence.
Experience identifying control weaknesses, testing control effectiveness and coordinating remediation of audit findings or material issues.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across Risk, Compliance, Product and Control Owners, including engaging at senior levels.
A structured, analytical approach, with the ability to prioritise work, manage competing demands and deliver within tight or changing regulatory timelines.
We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
