JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer
SALARY: £72,702 to £85,000
LOCATION: Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites in Edinburgh.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Digital Finance Lab to develop and deliver innovative payment solutions and services for our customers and business. The Lab will focus on tasks that bring real value to the group by exploring opportunities in the Digital Assets and Payments Data sector. Our aim is to provide customers and clients with products and services that meet their unique needs, going beyond our current product offerings.
Our mission in the Payments Services Platform (PSP) is to offer compliant and efficient payment capabilities for LBG. We drive innovation to ensure customers can move money confidently, quickly, and securely. The PSP is a vital part of Group Payments, serving the entire LBG

What you’ll get involved with…
Working within a feature team to develop and deliver innovative payment solutions and services for our customers and business. The team works closely with industry groups and regulators to help Britain prosper while protecting the UK, the bank, and customers. We make extensive use of agile delivery techniques under the new Platform Change Framework to release value and sustain service. You'll also engage in various Industry Forums, working with other organizations to influence the direction of the strategy at Lloyds Banking Group.
What you’ll need…
Significant years of professional software engineering and strong proficiency in Java with Quarkus or equivalent frameworks.
Expertise in developing applications in a microservices / modular monolith architecture and even-driven systems (preferably Kafka) on Container based cloud environments (preferably GCP/GKE).
Knowledge with CI/CD tooling, IaaC. (Preferably using IDP / Harness or equivalent tools)
Solid understanding of working with Databases like PostgreSQL / Oracle / Spanner for schema design and database interaction.
Experience in building UI using React Typescript, including integration with backend interfaces and alignment to security protocols.
An interest in Distributed ledger Technology and associated tools and experience within it would be beneficial.
Any of the following would be great to see...
React Typescript for UI and Quarkus for backend.
DAML, Blockchain, DLT and equivalent tech experience.
Experience with GCP ( Or other public cloud service providers for container based clouds)
Proficiency with PostgreSQL dialect with Spanner.
