1 x full time and 1 x part time post are in the Benefits Team where you will be responsible for assessing entitlement to Council Tax Reduction, Housing Benefit, Education Benefits and Discretionary Housing Payments. You will also be involved in the assessment and billing of Council Tax.
As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a “blended worker” at home and at Bankhead Central, where typically you would work 1 day in the office per week depending on the needs of the service.
While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
For both posts, there will be a requirement to work a fixed 36 hours for a minimum of 6 weeks based in Bankhead Central whilst undergoing initial training.
You will be required to take a proactive approach to managing your workload and have previous experience of working to targets and timescales. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to comply with complex legislative requirements processing benefit claims and assessing Council Tax liability. You should have excellent customer service skills.
You should have experience in a financial/customer service background dealing with customers by phone and correspondence. Educated to SCQF level 5 which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades at Credit level or equivalent in a business /customer service background.
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
