NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner to join our Plastics and Burns, Trauma and Related Services team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work autonomously within a highly skilled multidisciplinary environment, delivering expert, evidence‑based care to a defined patient group. You will play a key role in advanced clinical assessment, decision‑making and treatment planning while supporting service development and innovation. You will be part of Scotland’s largest health board, making a real difference to patient care and outcomes.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Glasgow Royal Infirmary
- Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00
Key responsibilities:
- Assess and manage the clinical and nursing needs of patients within the specialist service
- Undertake advanced clinical assessments and make diagnostic decisions based on clinical findings and investigations
- Develop and deliver individualised care plans including nursing and medical management
- Prescribe and administer appropriate treatments within scope of practice
- Perform invasive and non‑invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures relevant to the role
- Work autonomously while contributing effectively to the multidisciplinary team
- Act as a role model, supporting education, audit, research and service development
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- First Level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Minimum of five years post‑registration nursing experience
- Relevant post‑registration experience supported by degree‑level study or equivalent
- Completion or commitment to an agreed Nurse Practitioner development pathway
- Demonstrable expertise in clinical assessment and decision‑making within a specialist setting
- Experience of working autonomously while maintaining strong multidisciplinary collaboration
- Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence‑based practice
