Fife Council is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our Pensions Division in this exciting new role of Pension Fund Investment and Accounting Manager.
This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role in shaping the future of the Fife Pension Fund and its investment and financial management arrangements. You will have the chance to influence strategy, strengthen governance, and drive continuous improvement as part of a forward-looking and ambitious service.
As Pension Fund Investment and Accounting Manager, you will lead the investment and accounting operations of the £4bn Fife Pension Fund, supporting the delivery of robust financial management and long-term sustainability.
Working closely with senior colleagues, including the Pensions Service Manager, you will play a key role in:
- Leading the preparation of the Pension Fund’s annual accounts and managing the audit process.
- Overseeing investment monitoring, performance reporting and risk analysis.
- Managing relationships with external investment managers, custodians and advisors.
- Supporting strategic investment planning and asset allocation reviews.
- Leading on responsible investment and stewardship approaches
- Driving strong governance, internal controls and financial processes across the fund.
- Developing a high-performing team and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
You will also work closely with key stakeholders including the Pensions Committee, Pension Board and employers, helping to provide insight into the evolving pensions landscape.

The Person
You will have:
- A relevant CCAB accountancy qualification (e.g. CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA or ICAS).
- Strong experience in financial management, reporting and audit processes.
- Knowledge of investment principles, financial markets and pension fund governance.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Experience of managing relationships with external advisors and delivering through partnership working.
- The ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.
Experience of LGPS and understanding of investment regulation and disclosure requirements would be advantageous.
