Community Rehabilitation Team and Huntlyburn Acute Inpatient Unit

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Occupational Therapist to work within our multidisciplinary teams at Huntlyburn Acute Inpatient Unit and the Community Mental Health Team in the beautiful Scottish Borders. This will act as a rotational post spending time with both teams for block periods.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our friendly multi-disciplinary teams who is forward thinking and wants the best care for people experiencing both acute mental illness and severe and enduring mental health illness.
You will manage a caseload of complex cases using evidence based patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in order to encourage meaningful occupations. Your caseload will be diverse and will include people in the age range of 18 to 69 years of age.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide clinical expertise, leadership and supervision of support staff. You will demonstrate and promote our trust’s values and leadership behaviours and will engage in regular supervision, leadership development, CPD and student placements. This post, whilst highly autonomous will be aligned with the multidisciplinary teams and the wider Occupational Therapy Service within mental health offering excellent connection, support and professional development.
The post holder must have a full driving licence and access to a car.
