As SSEN Transmission delivers a multi £bn portfolio of major infrastructure projects to enable low carbon energy, strengthen the UK’s electricity network, and achieve Net Zero, we’ve established a new Project Services function to provide the governance, insight, and expertise that underpin successful delivery.
As Head of Resourcing, Planning and Project Coordination, you will lead a high performing team to manage resource forecasting, allocation, and utilisation, while standardising project coordination across the portfolio. Working closely with directorate leads and executive stakeholders, you will ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time, driving operational efficiency, insight led decision making, and consistent delivery across major projects.
You will
- Lead and embed SHE principles across resource management and project coordination, ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performing working environment.
- Oversee forecasting, demand management, allocation, utilisation, and onboarding/offboarding to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time.
- Define and maintain scalable, consistent coordination processes that support smooth project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and operational readiness across the portfolio.
- Build a high-performing Resource Management and Project Coordination function, providing strategic direction, capability development, and a collaborative, delivery focused culture.
- Implement digital tools, automation, and best-practice processes, while engaging stakeholders to enhance efficiency, insight, and overall functional maturity.
You have
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Business Management, Project Management, Engineering, Resource Planning, or a related discipline.
- Proven expertise in resource and project coordination, including forecasting, utilisation frameworks, contingent workforce governance, and scaling standardised processes across major programmes.
- Strong digital and analytical capability, with experience in enterprise resource planning platforms, data analysis, performance reporting, and integration with HR, Finance, and Commercial systems.
- Senior leadership experience in complex, high value delivery environments, managing multidisciplinary teams to achieve strategic objectives.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with confidence in engaging Executive Management, Boards, and senior stakeholders to drive alignment and informed decision making.
