OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST B5

We are in the fortunate position to be recruiting to Occupational Therapy positions within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. We have a full-time Band 5 Rotational Occupational Therapy post vacancy within our exciting and varied rotation.

This post provides the opportunity for an innovative, enthusiastic therapist to gain experience within a rotation in the Acute Sector, and Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership.

The post will involve working closely with Senior Occupational Therapists and multi-disciplinary/multi-agency teams to assess and treat patients with a variety of conditions in a number of settings, both inpatient and community, throughout Aberdeen City.

At present, rotations include Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics, Acute Stroke, Medical, Surgical, Critical Care, Oncology, Vascular, Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Stroke Rehabilitation, Frailty assessment and rehabilitation, and Community Rehabilitation with the current vacancy being within the surgical team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Opportunities for continuous personal development (CPD) are encouraged with regular supervision, Preceptorship for newly qualified Occupational Therapists, in-service training programme and access to Band 5 Support Group.

Applicants must be registered with HCPC, have a valid full UK Drivers Licence, and access to a car for work purposes.

There may be a requirement to provide 7 day service cover to include weekends and Public Holiday cover to meet the service needs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
