SP Energy Networks is recruiting Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors to support major overhead line and substation projects across Central and Southern Scotland. In this role, you’ll oversee all commercial activity from tender development through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, accurately, and in line with NEC4 contracts—playing a key role in Scotland’s transition to a Net Zero future.
What You’ll Do
Prepare NEC4 tender documents and negotiate tender prices.
Produce monthly valuations, commercial reports, and financial updates.
Manage early warnings, compensation events and change control processes.
Attend or lead (senior level) commercial meetings with partners and stakeholders.
Agree final accounts and maintain accurate commercial records.
Ensure compliance with internal processes and industry standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Mentor junior staff (senior level only).
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (consultancy or contracting).
Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of procurement and cost management.
NEC3/NEC4 contract administration experience.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
MS Office proficiency.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
MRICS status (Desirable)
Transmission or utilities sector experience (Desirable)
