With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.
NHS Tayside has a new and exciting vacancy for a Digital Systems Support Technician. This post will assist the existing team across several technology stacks including a large Firewall estate and pro-active Operations Management. This role will be key to delivering robust Network Services to the Patients and Staff of NHS Tayside.

What the Job entails:
Good communication and problem-solving skills, eagerness to learn new technologies, and a keen understanding of the requirements for Local Area Data Networking, SolarWinds Network Monitoring Platforms, Cisco Network switching and TCP/IP protocols will all be key areas. Knowledge or awareness of Wireless Networking, VoIP, Firewalls, Remote Access, Cisco Operating Systems and platforms are highly desirable but not essential, whilst an understanding of IT service management principles including ITIL foundation will also be advantageous. We would welcome candidates who have a keen interest in data networking and who would like to pursue a career in this field.

The Digital Team are currently based in the MacKenzie Building, on the Ninewells Campus, Dundee, there is some flexibility with the team working remotely at times across NHS Tayside Sites and limited home working opportunity.
This is a permanent, full-time post (37 hrs per week) that is predominantly Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00 am and 5.00 pm but this can change depending on service need so flexibility is required, you will also be expected to take part in a weekend on-call rota covering 9 – 5 Saturday and Sunday.
