Site Manager (Overhead Lines)
Site Based role – We have projects in the East Coast, Central Belt, Borders, Glasgow, Ayrshire & Dumfries and Galloway.
Salary up to £60,500 with a strong benefits package, overtime opportunities available (further details below) and our excellent pension scheme, where we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
Full Time / Perm role based on 37hr week.

As a Site Manager (Overhead Lines), you’ll join a multi‑disciplined department responsible for the construction of new build, replacement, refurbishment and other major transmission overhead line projects. You’ll enjoy working as part of a team committed to planning and delivering high‑profile construction projects.
Acting as the primary on‑site representative, you’ll take ownership of site activities and provide technical support and guidance throughout the overhead line elements of the construction phase for key transmission projects.
What you’ll be doing
With your experience in managing transmission construction projects, including Contract management (variations and claims etc included) you will be confident at monitoring and managing contractor’s programmes in a proactive way in line with the overall project programme. You will have knowledge and experience in the construction and commissioning of overhead lines transmission projects.
With your knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and your ability to implement quality assurance and environmental processes, you will ensure compliance with all site environmental legislation and monitor all agreed mitigation.

If you have the following experience, we’d love to hear from you:
- Significant experience managing transmission construction projects
- Proven experience delivering the Principal Contractor role and overseeing multiple contractors
- Strong technical knowledge of overhead line specifications, design, maintenance, construction and commissioning, including activities such as access development, foundation installation, assembly and erection (wood pole and/or towers), wiring, re‑insulation, re‑spacing, re‑conductoring, tower painting and reinstatement works
- Proficiency with IT systems and software packages, including Microsoft Office
- Comprehensive understanding of current Health & Safety legislation, CDM 2015 regulations and associated duty‑holder roles, particularly in the delivery of the Principal Contractor role
- First Aid certification
Overtime Payments (Overtime is optional)
- Mon–Sat (8pm–midnight): Time & ½
- Mon–Sat (midnight–8am): Double Time
- Sundays: Double Time
