The Position:
The Senior Healthcare Support Worker in Outpatients will provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered clinicians, working to agreed standard operating procedures across a range of specialities. Duties include phlebotomy, recording vital signs, ophthalmology testing and imaging, supporting pre‑operative assessments, assisting with minor procedures, and facilitating technology‑enabled care appointments.
The Candidate:
Applicants should hold an SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence gained through relevant work experience. You will have an awareness of the importance of confidentiality, data protection and infection control procedures, and be computer literate. The ability to work effectively as part of a team, use your own initiative, and work with minimal supervision is essential, alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This post will be based at The Balfour
The successful candidate will work: Full Time 37 hours per week

It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.
