We’re looking for two passionate and skilled Occupational Therapists to join our progressive Occupational Therapy Team within NHS Grampian’s Combined Child Health service.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric service within a well-established and proactive Occupational Therapy team.

Band 6 Occupational Therapist

This permanent post offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience both within RACH and the Child development team (CDT)
The post is 0.4 wte based in RACH, and 0.6 wte CDT based in Lochside Academy, Aberdeen.
There are a wide variety of conditions and complex needs across this patient population.
The postholders caseload within RACH will include outpatients and in patients. Rotation within clinical areas within the RACH Paediatric Occupational Therapy service will also be available as an opportunity.
Within the CDT, the post holder will be required to deliver an Occupational Therapy service to children within a variety of settings as appropriate to the clinical need i.e. school, clinics and the child’s home.
Whether you’re an experienced paediatric occupational therapist or bring transferrable skills from another area, we welcome your application. Training and support will be provided to help you thrive in this role.
The successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes. There is a requirement to drive to rural homes. The successful candidate must be registered as an Occupational Therapist with HCPC.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver high-quality assessments and therapy programmes for children with a wide range of conditions and complex needs.
- Work across diverse settings including RACH, CDT, homes, schools, and clinics.
- Collaborate within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team based in a modern, purpose-built therapy departments.
- Cover CDT caseloads primarily in Aberdeen City / South Aberdeenshire.

Band 6 Occupational Therapist
📍 Location: RACH
🕒 Hours: Full-time (36 hours/week)
📅 Contract: Fixed Term / Secondment – 11 months (Maternity Cover)
This fixed term post is based at RACH. Working within the Occupational therapy service, this post holder will be required to deliver a service within a well-established Occupational therapy service in an acute setting.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric service at RACH. The occupational therapy service covers a number of clinical specialities including oncology, neurology, orthopaedics, gastroenterology and rheumatology. RACH is a major trauma centre.
The post holder will work across a range of clinical specialisms and this will include in patient and out patients work. Whether you’re an experienced paediatric occupational therapist or bring transferrable skills from another area, we welcome your application.
There are a wide variety of clinical conditions and complex needs in the patient population. Training and support will be provided to help you progress in this role.

- The post holder will work within a supportive Occupational therapy and wider multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment programmes for children within Royal Aberdeen children’s hospital. This will include a range of clinical specialisms and across in and outpatient settings.
- Gaining experience within a range of clinical areas of the Paediatric Occupational Therapy service is a key element of the post.
