On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.
As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About the Organisation:
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.
We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
The Post:
You will be responsible for developing and leading delivery of the Primary and Community Care clinical services relating to dentistry and oral health and ensuring robust stakeholder engagement so that PSD Scotland service developments continue to be aligned with, and relevant to, stakeholder needs.
You will have a lead role in strengthening our strategic clinical leadership and engagement with the dental profession in NHS Scotland. You will also have a key role in influencing national strategy and policy development.
The Candidate:
Educated to Postgraduate level in a recognised area of Dentistry and registered with the General Dental Council, you will be a proven professional and leader with demonstrable senior level experience of working across multi-disciplinary teams. You will be an excellent influencer with the ability to develop effective customer relationships and to drive strategic service development.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Candidates must have current General Dental Council registration at the time of applying.
Location and Working Pattern:
The post is based in Edinburgh, Glasgow or Aberdeen, although the role is currently hybrid working.
The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 10 Programmed Activities per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PSD Scotland.
