As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll help design and deliver modern payment solutions that are secure, scalable and built around customer needs. You’ll be part of a team exploring emerging technologies and new ways to bring value beyond our current products!
About the team
The Payments Services Platform (PSP) enables customers and businesses across Lloyds Banking Group to move money safely, quickly and confidently.
We work closely with regulators and industry partners to deliver reliable, compliant and forward-looking payment capabilities. Our teams use agile ways of working to continuously improve and deliver value!
What you’ll be doing
- Designing, building and improving payment services within a collaborative feature team
- Developing scalable applications using modern architectures (e.g. microservices or modular systems)
- Working with cloud-based environments and event-driven systems
- Collaborating with teams, partners and industry groups to shape future payment solutions
- Contributing to continuous improvement through agile delivery practices
What you’ll bring
We’re interested in people who can bring a mix of the following. If you don’t meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you.
- Strong experience in software engineering, particularly with Java
- Experience building applications using modern architectures (e.g. microservices or event-driven systems)
- Knowledge of cloud-based platforms and container technologies (e.g. GCP or similar)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
- Understanding of databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar
- Experience building or integrating frontend applications (e.g. React, TypeScript)
It would be great if you also have
- Experience with Kafka, Quarkus or similar technologies
- Exposure to distributed ledger technologies (DLT), blockchain or DAML
- Familiarity with GCP or other public cloud platforms
- Experience working with globally distributed systems or high-scale platforms
