JOB TITLE: Scottish Widows Platform - Technical Consultant.
SALARY: £40,824pa to £49,800pa plus the benefits listed below.
LOCATION: Edinburgh or Dundee.
HOURS: Full-time.
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
We’ve got an exciting opportunity to join our Platform Technical team within Customer Services Operations. As a Technical Consultant, you’ll build your knowledge of the Scottish Widows Platform and our products (SIPP, ISA, GIA and Trusts), working closely with colleagues across Operations and the wider business. You’ll play a key role in supporting complex queries, improving processes and helping teams deliver consistently strong customer outcomes.
You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, with opportunities to develop your technical expertise further while contributing to continuous improvement across the function.
In this role, you’ll:
- Provide clear, accurate technical guidance to colleagues, business areas and Advisers
- Support complex queries, including complaints, helping teams reach the right outcomes
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve how we work
- Build strong relationships across Operations to support delivery and problem-solving
- Represent Customer Services Operations in projects and incident activity
- Deliver technical training to colleagues to build capability and confidence

What you’ll need
We’re interested in people who enjoy solving problems, working collaboratively and building technical expertise.
Specifically, we’re looking for someone who has:
- Worked in a financial services operations environment for a minimum of 3 years, specifically in pensions, ISA, Trusts and GIA)
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and simply
- A track record working with detailed calculations and identifying errors
- Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
And any experience of these would be really useful
- Knowledge of onshore and offshore bonds
- Supporting projects in a technical capacity
- Experience applying legislation to solve operational or customer issues
- Experience supporting complaints or complex technical queries
