Are you a motivated Registered Nurse looking to develop your career in public health and make a lasting difference to the lives of children, young people and families? Aberdeen City School Nursing Service is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate nurses to join our team as Trainee School Nurses (Specialist Community Public Health Nursing – SCPHN).
This is a unique opportunity to undertake a fully funded postgraduate programme whilst working within a supportive and progressive School Nursing Service. Upon successful completion of the academic programme and registration on Part 3 of the NMC Register, you will transition into a substantive School Nurse post within Aberdeen City.
About the Role
School Nurses are autonomous practitioners who work in partnership with children, young people, families, schools and multi-agency colleagues to improve health and wellbeing outcomes.
- Deliver Scotland’s School Nurse Priority Pathways.
- Promote health, wellbeing and early intervention.
- Support vulnerable children, young people and families.
- Address health inequalities and wider determinants of health.
- Contribute to GIRFEC, The Promise and child-centred approaches to care.
- Undertake holistic assessment, planning and intervention alongside multi-agency partners.
- Advocate for the rights, welfare and safety of children and young people.
Educational Programme
Successful candidates will undertake a fully funded postgraduate programme leading to registration as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nursing).
