THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS
One of the key targets from Scottish Government is to ensure greater focus on patient flow throughout our services with emphasis on reducing delayed discharges. We are seeking to recruit a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to fulfil the role of Flow Navigation Services Manager for an initial period of 12 months.
The successful candidate will be expected to work across the 5 main hospital sites across Greater Glasgow and Clyde, providing excellent leadership and operational managerial responsibility for the effective and timely delivery of patient flow navigation services. The post holder will provide clinical leadership and operational management to bed managers, discharge coordinators and inpatient social worker teams.
The post holder will work closely with Inpatient Service Managers, Community Service Managers and Medical Managers in the Health and Social Care partnership.
The post holder will offer operational support to the Head of Adult Services by providing visible leadership, clinical governance, staff governance, compliance to legislative frameworks, and implementation of national and board policy and guidelines when required.
The applicant should have significant experience at a band 7 level or above and demonstrate excellent leadership skills .Effective written and verbal communication skills including negotiation, influencing, facilitation and conflict resolution are also a requirement of the role . The applicant should be motivated and have the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst providing assurance regarding person centred effective care and ensuring professional accountability at all times.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
