Role Description:
Employed within BAE Systems Shared Services you will be joining a team that delivers the Early Careers provision for BAE Systems Naval Ships. This is a growing area with a record investment in our new Applied Shipbuilding Academy. This is a rewarding role which will give you the opportunity to work with and shape the future talent within the business. The role will have responsibility for the Education Services Programmes in the Naval Ships business with a focus on strategy development and solution design and implementation. Your role will have responsibility for the deployment of the Education Services Programmes including school/college partnerships NPA, WIE, Movement to Work and a portfolio of Work Experience; ensuring they are delivered consistently in the business in line with the UK delivery model and in line with customer demand and agreed service delivery. Will ensure consistency and standardisation across the operating model in Naval Ships
Deliver virtual and onsite outreach activities/ encounters with a focus on diversity and inclusion. Support partnerships and corporate sponsored events as part of the Education Services calendar of activities . Understand the importance of safeguarding and apply all necessary processes to ensure Safeguarding responsibilities are deployed. Responsible for carrying out learning to the highest safety standards and a positive safety culture is in place throughout the facilities. Deliver the Early Careers attraction and recruitment strategy at business unit level to ensure a diverse pipeline of talent into the business.
Core Duties:
- Lead on the implementation and delivery of the Education Services programmes within Naval Ships
- Support delivery partners and sponsors in line with service contracts and company requirements
- Ensure consistency and continuous improvement of Education Services within Naval Ships and contribute to UK wide improvements
- Manage the effective utilisation of data and analytics to understand service impact and inform continuous improvement
- Ensure business unit views are represented in the development of shared resources/packages of work to support Education Services approach across the UK
- To work in support of developing a technology strategy that underpins the management and delivery of all Education services activities
Essential Skills:
- Proven track record in the delivery of early careers programmes in an organisation of scale
- Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders to maintain effective early careers programmes
- Experience of working with providers of academic learning as part of programme delivery
- Knowledge of Scottish Curriculum” and “Awareness of Employability Landscape and the Developing the Young Workforce Agenda”
- Experience working in Early Careers, Education partnerships, STEM organisations or marketing is essential
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Qualifications regarding safeguarding or mental health awareness
