The role:
As a Senior Programme Support Team Manager within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of population‑wide screening and immunisation programmes that impact thousands of people every day. Working within one of the most complex and varied screening services in Scotland, you will lead and support high‑performing administrative teams while working closely with senior managers and clinical stakeholders. Key responsibilities:
- Provide day to day leadership and line management to Programme Support Officer staff ensuring continuity of high quality service delivery
- Support the planning, performance management and quality assurance of screening and immunisation programmes across NHSGGC
- Oversee and maintain complex call and recall systems ensuring patient pathways, fail‑safe processes and national standards are met
- Deputise for senior managers and represent the service at local and national meetings as required
- Manage, develop and improve administrative systems, processes and workflows to meet evolving service demands
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure strict confidentiality and accurate handling of highly sensitive patient and clinical information
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Detailed working knowledge of screening and immunisation programmes within NHS Scotland or a comparable complex service
- Proven experience of managing, motivating and developing administrative or support staff
- Strong understanding of staff management policies, procedures and performance management processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and work collaboratively
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
- Confident user of IT systems with strong skills in Microsoft Office and data handling systems
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing demands and make sound operational judgements
