The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the NHS delivering occupational health services across a range of commercial customers. This role provides an excellent support network and development opportunities in house as part of the role. We are looking for a dynamic self-starter, currently working in the field of Occupational Health and who feel are ready for the next challenge, within a supportive team. This role encompasses the full range of occupational health staff nurse duties; immunisations, pre-placement screening, all aspects of health surveillance, customer liaison etc. This post delivers services on site to Salus customers and therefore travel is required.
In this key role, you will:
- Undertake pre-employment health screening within agreed timescales, and arrange and undertake further assessment as required for this screening e.g. baseline health surveillance, drug testing, drivers health assessment, night shift workers health assessment.
- Ensure pre-employment database is up to date and fully completed to ensure the smooth delivery of service.
- Take professional responsibility for administration of immunisation and for carrying out appropriate venepuncture in accordance with guidelines and protocols. Suitable and sufficient instruction in extended role procedures and the completion of a relevant Patient Group Direction or Standing Order, to ensure that immunisation is undertaken safely.
- Ensure that all substances in use for immunisation clinics are ‘in-date’ and safe for use and ensure that the appropriate emergency supplies are available to maintain high clinical standards.
What You'll Bring:
- Registered General Nurse/current registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council. Post qualification experience.
- Evidence of ongoing training and continuing professional development relating to professional discipline
- Evidence of knowledge or recognised training in spirometry, audiometry and the use of vision screening equipment (or willingness to undertake suitable training in the above)
- Evidence of experience or recognised training in venepuncture
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
