Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist

We are delighted to invite applications for a permanent Band 7 Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist working across two GP practices within Primary Care in Moray.

About the Role

As an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred Occupational Therapy within Primary Care. You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, offering scheduled and unscheduled assessment and intervention to adults with a broad spectrum of physical and mental health needs affecting their daily functioning.

You will empower patients to improve and manage their own health and wellbeing through proactive Occupational Therapy interventions, self‑management strategies, and tailored functional rehabilitation.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate:

Advanced post‑graduate training and relevant clinical experience
A commitment to further professional development
Confidence working at Advanced Practice level within a fast‑paced primary care setting
Strong clinical reasoning, autonomy, and decision‑making skills
The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams

You will receive clinical supervision from a Team Lead Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist and will also provide supervision to a support worker.

A key part of this role includes promoting awareness of Occupational Therapy within the Primary Care setting, supporting the development of the First Contact Practitioner model, and contributing to ongoing service evaluation and improvement.

Close working relationships across AHP groups, wider multidisciplinary teams, and national networks

As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
