Dietitian – Part Time
28.8 hours 0.8 WTE, Permanent
We are pleased to invite applications for a permanent Band 6 Dietitian to join NHS Lothian. This rotational post will be based within the Community Dietetic Team at Mountcastle Health Centre within Edinburgh City and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to becoming an integral member of the wider Lothian Dietetic Service. In this role, you will deliver care to individuals with malnutrition across NHS Lothian. You will play a key role in driving service innovation, with a particular focus on early intervention for people living with malnutrition.
The post holder would have a base at Mountcastle Health Centre but may be required to provide cross‑cover across NHS Lothian sites. The ability to travel across the region is therefore essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for motivated dietitians with a passion for nutritional support to develop their skills within a diverse, friendly and supportive multidisciplinary environment.
NHS Lothian is strongly committed to training, CPD, and clinical governance, supported by a structured supervision framework, annual appraisals, peer support, and ongoing opportunities to enhance both clinical and professional practice.
We welcome applications from dietitians with existing experience who are looking to further develop their skills as part of our skilled and dedicated team.

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application—but your answers must be your own.
- Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
- Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.
- Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.
Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you—not an AI tool.
