- Our Adviser business provides financial planning solutions and technology for UK financial advisers, enabling them to create value for their customers.
- Our Investments business is a specialist asset manager that focuses on areas where we have both strength and scale to capitalise on the key themes shaping the market, through either public markets or alternative asset classes.
About the Department
The platform marketing team sits within the Adviser business and plays a central role in supporting the growth, engagement and advocacy of financial advisers using the wrap platform.
The team is responsible for developing and delivering marketing activity that positions the platform as a trusted, high-quality and differentiated solution, supporting both new business acquisition and existing adviser relationships. This includes driving awareness, engagement and growth.
Events are an important and growing engagement channel for the Adviser business, enabling us to deliver technical insight, practical platform support, best-practice guidance and thought leadership to advisers, while strengthening relationships and trust in the platform.
About the Role
The Senior Events Manager is responsible for the strategy, planning and end-to-end delivery of adviser-focused events, including webinars and face-to-face events.
The role owns the design and execution of a high-quality events programme that supports commercial objectives with a strong emphasis on adviser relevance and measurable outcomes including lead generation.
Working closely with marketing, distribution, technical and product teams, the Senior Events Manager will translate business priorities into engaging, insight-led events that deepen adviser engagement with Aberdeen and position the business as a trusted partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and own the adviser events strategy, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.
- Plan and manage an annual schedule of events, including technical and regulatory webinars, best-practice sessions and face-to-face adviser roadshows.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of all events, from concept and content development to live delivery and post event follow up.
- Act as the primary owner and subject matter expert for event platforms and suppliers including BrightTALK and Cvent.
- Work closely with Distribution and Technical to shape relevant adviser-centric content, and with Compliance and Risk to ensure events meet regulatory and governance requirements.
- Manage external suppliers, venues and production partners, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for money.
- Own the events budget, forecasting costs and managing spend effectively.
- Define and track success measures for events, using data and adviser feedback to continuously improve content, format and performance.
- Provide clear reporting and insight to stakeholders on engagement, outcomes and learnings.
About the Candidate
- Significant experience delivering events within financial services, ideally in platforms.
- Proven experience delivering both webinars and face-to-face events at scale.
- Proficient in Event technology with hands-on experience of using BrighTALK and Cvent preferred. Experience using Salesforce and Marketing Cloud desirable.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple events and priorities at the same time.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative, proactive and highly organised approach.
- Good understanding of the UK financial adviser market and the requirements of a regulated environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours to support events in line with business needs and able to travel to fulfil event requirements.
