The SAS Customer Intelligence team is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead a dedicated team in Glasgow, Scotland. This team will focus on developing our Audiences creation and targeting components. The candidate will be responsible for managing and prioritizing Customer Intelligence 360 software development projects and resources to ensure the achievement of department, division, and corporate objectives.
SAS Customer Intelligence R&D division produces cutting-edge solutions for multichannel marketing, offering advanced audience creation, targeting, and activation capabilities. Our organization develops a comprehensive SaaS solution called SAS Customer Intelligence 360, a multichannel marketing hub that elevates marketers beyond traditional customer data platforms with market-leading advanced audience creation, targeting, and activation features.
As a Manager, Software Development -Customer Intelligence, you will:
- Organize, develop, prioritize, and assign resources to deliver high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines, while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
- Proactively lead and solicit the involvement of other project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.
- Manage and lead project scoping and scheduling; track progress of individual tasks and alert executive management and stakeholders of concerns meeting schedules, while following established R&D standards.
- Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
- Manage all aspects of the department including teamwork, performance management, feedback, professional growth through collaboration with SAS human resources, SAS education and executive leadership.
- Work with senior management to develop, prioritize, and assign project objectives and responsibilities to individual resources. Mentor, train, and manage the daily activities of the team. Collaborate with product marketing, management, and others to refine product/project direction.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Required qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience developing with Java, microservices architecture, CI/CD, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes and related development tools, procedures and methodologies,including one year of project lead, supervisory or management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative field, preferably computer science, math, or statistics.
- Strong knowledge and implementation experience using AWS or Azure or other cloud-based systems as well as experience with REST API standards, Software as a Service and Multi-tenant system architectures
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, in addition to a demonstrated ability to lead, manage and communicate goals to employees
- The ability to lead projects and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. The ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems
- Proof of Right to work in the UK is required to be considered for this role.
- Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
