Victim Support Scotland (VSS) provides support and information to people affected by crime and campaigns for victim and witness rights. Regardless of whether a crime has been reported, or when it happened, our services are free, confidential, and tailored to individuals’ needs.

What is the role?
We are pleased to offer two exciting internal secondment opportunities for colleagues seeking to develop their experience as Locality Managers within our West and Glasgow localities, until 31 January 2027.Working week will be between the following days and hours:
- Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm
Salary band: £34,974 - £46,187. Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line with VSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will only be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
Primary location: West and Glasgow Localities. You will be expected to cover throughout other Localities and offices as required.
These six-month secondment opportunities offer a fantastic chance for ambitious and motivated colleagues to develop their leadership skills, broaden their experience, and gain valuable insight into locality management within a supportive and collaborative environment.
As a Locality Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing services across your locality. You will support and empower teams to deliver positive outcomes for service users, while ensuring effective operational management and high standards of performance. Working closely with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders, you will contribute to service improvement, drive quality and performance, and help shape the ongoing development of our services.
We are seeking individuals who:
- Demonstrate strong leadership potential and a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
- Some experience of managing teams that they would like to develop
- Can build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Are confident in managing competing priorities and making informed decisions.
- Have a passion for improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
These secondments are designed as development opportunities, offering successful candidates valuable exposure to the responsibilities and experience of working at Locality Manager level. Throughout the secondment, individuals will receive comprehensive support, mentoring, and development to help strengthen their skills, build confidence, and enhance their leadership capability.
