We are seeking a Speciality Doctor in Psychiatry to work 10 sessions in Fife CAMHS with emphasis on neurodevelopmental disorders . The post has 2 distinctive parts- 5 sessions in the ADHD Tier 3 service and 5 sessions in the WEST CAMHS Core Team. The base will be at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline and occasional travel to Kirkcaldy will be required.
The ADHD Tier 3 service is a shared pathway across Community Paediatrics, Community Childrens Services, Clinical Psychology and CAMHS and comprises a multi disciplinary team of doctors, nurses and psychologists. The medical provision for the ADHD service is provided through CAMHS psychiatrists.
Fife CAMHS includes a core group of experienced and well qualified clinicians from a number of disciplines, including, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Child Psychotherapy and Dietetics. The post holder will also join an established team of Consultant Psychiatrists and we have one core trainee from the south east Scotland training scheme. We are approved for Higher training from the Scottish National training scheme.
We have been at the forefront in Scotland in developing an Intensive Therapy Service, including Eating Disorders, and offer community based support for children and young people with complex and severe mental health problems. Other multi-disciplinary teams provide services for young people and children who self harm, are looked after children and also for children and young people who have been sexually abused.
The service values further development of skills, research and sharing information. The service will offer opportunities for the successful post holder to receive support for research and engage in a range of training events.
In the past 9 months the redesigned multi-agency Neurodevelopmental Pathway (NDP) has been implemented, focussing on collaboration of MDT health colleagues and education to provide tailored support around neurodivergence rather than assessment only.
Candidates must possess their GMC registration, have 3 years experience working in psychiatry and at least 6 months experience in CAMHS with an interest and training in neurodevelopmental disorders. There is an opportunity to undertake the portfolio pathway to specialist registration.

The region has a wide range of sporting and leisure activities particularly golf and horse riding. There are excellent housing and education facilities and the main teaching centres in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee are close and easily accessible by road or public transport.
