Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm
Inch Cape is a 1080MW offshore wind farm situated 15km from the Angus coast in the North Sea. The power it generates will be transmitted 85 kilometres to a new substation at Cockenzie, in East Lothian from where it will enter the national transmission system. Inch Cape is a more than £3 billion infrastructure project that will make a significant contribution to the UK’s carbon emissions reduction targets. Once complete its 72 turbines will generate enough electricity to power almost half the homes in Scotland.
Summary of Assignment:
The Offshore Site Manager will have oversight of all offshore works and is responsible for coordinating the construction activities during the construction phase of the project. This role ensures that all construction activities are completed safely and efficiently, the Offshore Site Manager serves as the primary link between all parties involved in the construction works offshore.
The Offshore Site Manager will be a key role in fulfilling the duties of Principal Contractor under the CDM regulations 2015. The Offshore Site Manager will also be responsible for the direct day to day management of the Developers BoP team.
This role will be 12hrs per day on 2-2 rotation based in the Offshore Construction Base at Montrose
Responsibilities
- Assist the Construction Manager in delivering project milestones.
- Coordinate daily offshore construction activities.
- Chair the daily coordination meeting
- Monitor progress against the construction schedule and provide regular updates.
- Liaise with contractors to help plan construction operations around weather windows and site conditions.
- Oversee offshore construction teams, ensuring activities are conducted safely, efficiently.
- Monitor contractor performance and resolve issues or delays that may impact project timelines.
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards during all construction activities.
- Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of construction spreads with the marine team.
- Act as the point of contact between offshore construction teams and onshore management.
- Identify and address construction risks, including adverse weather, vessel availability, or technical challenges.
- Work with the construction team to develop contingency plans and adjust schedules as needed.
- Directly manage the Employers Balance of Plant team.
Skills:
- Able to foster a positive safety culture

Knowledge:
- 8 years experience in the offshore renewables industry
- 5 years in a similar role
- Understanding of rotational working in remote/offshore environments
- Good understanding of all aspects of a wind farm under construction
- Competent IT user
Qualifications:
- HSE qualification relevant to offshore renewables industry
- Certifications in Offshore Wind, Renewable Energy, or Project Management (preferred)
- Full GWO (including offshore training)
