To manage and close the programme-critical interfaces across Access / GI / PRI and onward into construction delivery, ensuring that work packages progress without delay caused by missing inputs, unclear demarcations, late approvals, unmanaged constraints, or uncoordinated execution. This role is primarily focused on readiness, information handovers, approvals, consents/permits, governance, and delivery integration.
Roles & Responsibilities
1) Interface Management & Governance
- Maintain the Interface Management Plan and Interface Register.
- Lead weekly interface reviews and manage key blockers.
- Track decisions, assumptions and actions to closure.
2) Scope & Demarcation
- Define clear boundaries between UI, subcontractors, design and construction.
- Ensure no gaps or overlaps in scope across packages and sections.
3) Workface Readiness (Part A focus)
- Coordinate readiness from access → ecology → permits → RAMS → mobilisation.
- Identify and escalate blockers early with mitigation options.
4) Information & Design Coordination
- Ensure key inputs (survey, utilities, GI, design data) are identified, issued and controlled.
- Manage interfaces between GI, design development and submissions.
5) Reviews, Approvals & Permits
- Coordinate review processes (UI, SSE, Authorities).
- Manage permits, traffic management and authority submissions as programme gates.
6) Environmental & Constraints Management
- Coordinate ECoW/ACoW requirements, constraints and compliance.
- Ensure constraints are reflected in programme and workface release.
7) Change, Risk & Reporting
- Maintain interface-related risks, issues and change triggers.
- Support change management (TQ/EWN/instruction).
- Provide weekly reporting on blockers, risks and upcoming hold points.
Part B (Construction Phase)
8) Construction Interfaces
- Coordinate design, construction and logistics interfaces during delivery.
- Manage shared work areas, sequencing and constraints.
9) Temporary Works & Methods
- Ensure temporary works and high-risk activities are coordinated and approved.
10) Completion & Handover
- Coordinate completion evidence, inspections and handover requirements.
- Ensure all interface requirements are closed for client acceptance.
Continuous Improvement
- Capture lessons learned and improve interface processes from Part A to Part B
